释义 | 昆曲 kūnqǔ noun ① (指戏曲) Kunqu opera ② = 昆腔 kūnqiānɡ 昆曲One of the most ancient forms of Chinese traditional opera, also known as kunju (昆剧). The music originated in the Yuan Dynasty in Kunshan in Jiangsu Province, gaining popularity by the Ming and the first part of the Qing dynasties. The melodies and the songs are mainly based on legend. One of the most famous Kunqu operas is The Peony Pavilion (《牡丹亭》). Musical instruments used include flutes and other wind instruments, lutes (琵琶), drums, clappers, and gongs, amongst others. Kunqu is divided into northern and southern forms. The former is popular in Beijing and Hebei Province, and the latter is popular in southern Jiangsu. Kunqu has had a significant influence on Peking Opera (→ 京剧jīnɡjù ) and other Chinese operatic forms. |
