Its predecessor, the Socialist Youth League of China, was established in 1922, and it took its present name in 1925. In 1949, its name was officially changed to the Chinese New Democracy Youth League. It reverted to the name of the Communist Youth League of China in 1957. The national congress of the Communist Youth League takes place every five years. Its national leaders are representatives of the National Congress and the Central Committee. Members are aged between 14 and 28. Its national publication is the China Youth Daily (《中国青年报》) and the biweekly magazine China Youth (《中国青年》). |
