| 释义 | 少林寺 Shàolínsì noun Shaolin Monastery 少林The birthplace of Zen (禅) Buddhism and the Shaolin style of martial arts. Shaolin Temple is situated in Henan Province, in the Song Mountain. It was founded in the Northern Wei Dynasty by the Emperor Xiaowen, after the arrival in China of the Indian dhyana master Fotuo (佛陀), who later became the temple’s first abbot. The temple is notable for its large collection of Tang Dynasty stupas. The Shaolin form of boxing is the most influential school of Chinese boxing arts. |
