Limited postal and trade links (the ‘three small links’) were introduced in 2001 between Kinmen and Matsu islands and the Fujian coast. Limited cross-straits direct flights were introduced in 2006. In 2008 an agreement was signed between the mainland and Taiwan on daily direct flights and cargo routes. |
